A happy cloudy day for Dublin

Smiley-faced clouds from Lady Gaga-collaborator Stuart Semple were released over Dublin last week at the official launch of First Fortnight, a mental health arts festival.

British contemporary artist Semple helped launch the festival by creating Happy Clouds – smiley faced, helium-based clouds that floated over the city centre.

Previously seen in London, Sydney and Milan, Stuart brought his show to the capital where he was joined by artists from First Fortnight, as well as representatives from the festival’s partners See Change, Mental Health Reform and SpunOut.ie, Ireland’s youth website.

He is pictured with (from left) artist Sorcha Kenny, Playwright of Dolls, Dr Shari McDaid, Director of Mental Health Reform, John Saunders, Director of See Change, musician and actress Tara Lee, co-founders of First Fortnight, David Keegan and JP Swaine, singer Aaron Snyth of VANN Music, and Robyn Gilmour from spunout.ie.
