“I want to especially thank the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) for organising it,

? he stated.

“The DAA has chosen such worthy causes as Down Syndrome Ireland, Bee for Battens and Make a Wish Foundation.

“I would also encourage others to raise money or volunteer their time to support these fantastic charities.

Since the launch of the DAA Staff Charity of the Year programme in 2007, more than e750,000 has been donated to a range of national charities.

George O’Connor, managing director of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Ireland, said:

“Having participated in the charity cycle in aid of Barrettstown in 2012, I understand that these charities are substantially funded through donations and national fundraising events.

“It is important that we contribute. I was so pleased that our staff at Enterprise took part in this charity cycle from Old Bridge House.
