A LOCAL project is calling on Northsiders to vote for it in a competition that will yield sporting and health benefits to the community if it wins.

Northside Partnership, together with Dublin sporting celebrities, is calling on all people living in north Dublin to vote for it to win the Coca Cola Thank You Fund.

Northside Partnership’s project,

‘Northside Community Health Heroes’, is one of just 45 projects throughout Ireland that have been shortlisted for the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund.

The winners will be decided through an online public vote that ends on September 30.

Last week, Olympic boxing gold medalist Michael Carruth and Dublin hurler Michael Carton, took part in photo calls to encourage Northsiders to get behind the project and get voting.

If successful, the project will see young people from Northside Partnership’s youth leadership programmes organising a whole range of free healthy lifestyle events in public parks and halls throughout Dublin 3, 5, 13 and 17. Among the exciting free events which the project will offer are:

?¢ A Family Fun Day –

‘Let’s Get the Northside Moving’ with free tasters from a range of sports and activity providers.

?¢ A 15k Northside Coastal Walk from Fairview Park to Howth Summit.

?¢ Free Circuit Training Classes in Northside parks.

?¢ An Intergenerational Olympics Day with games and activities for all ages from football to chair aerobics and lawn bowls.

?¢ Free healthy eating classes for local groups in public venues.

?¢ The Northside Health Bulletin – a free healthy lifestyle newsletter with seasonal healthy eating recipes, suggested walking routes, exercise tips and more.

To vote you need to:
