Dubs urged to step up to fundraising challenge

DUBLINERS are being urged to take part in an event to raise funds for a leading children’s charity.

The Barnardos Buggy Push, which will take place in the Phoenix Park on Sunday September 1, is a family friendly event with ample parking and post-race entertainment being provided.

The 5km route is suitable for every kind of buggy and will wind its way through the spectacular scenery of the Phoenix Park.

Competitive runners can make the most of having a timing chip to record a personal best, while fun runners and walkers can cover the route at a more relaxed pace and enjoy the camaraderie with other mums and dads.

All buggy pushers are welcome – mums, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles and friends.

The Barnardos Buggy Push, sponsored by Dettol, promises to be a great family day out and all who participate will have the satisfaction of knowing their steps are making a real difference to the thousands of children and families that Barnardos works with all over Ireland.

Registration is e20 at www.barnardos.ie or call 1850 222 300. All participants will receive a fundraising pack in the post with a Barnardos running vest, Dettol wipes, nutrition advice, and tips on how to keep baby happy in the buggy.

Buggy pushers will also get exclusive access to training tips and advice to help them get ready for the big day.
