A good Dealz for Finglas Village
Dublin People 17 Aug 2013
THE newly rebranded Finglas Village Centre has received a welcome boost with the opening of two new units, including a leading low cost retailer, and the launch of an official website.

Discount retailer Dealz opened on August 8 at the 5,000 sq ft unit once occupied by HW Williams and were joined in the centre by Bag City, a specialist store with an outlet in the Ilac Centre.
Dealz have been rapidly expanding throughout Ireland and the Finglas store is its 27th outlet in the country. A total of 24 local jobs have been created by the opening.
Dealz Business Manager Liam Igoe said the company was looking forward to success in Finglas from its low-cost products.
“We are extremely excited to be further expanding the Dealz portfolio in Ireland,
? he said.
“We are looking forward to bringing an extensive range of products offering amazing value to new customers in Finglas. We will also have a number of special promotions at key price points for our customers.
?
Customers at Dealz Finglas will be able to choose from more than 3,000 products, including over 1,000 well-known brands, most priced at e1.49.
The opening of Dealz was followed by the opening of Dublin’s second branch of Bag City at Finglas Village Centre last Friday and the launch of a new Facebook page and a website.
The website features a directory of stores and services available at the centre as well as special offers available from different outlets. Head of Marketing at Finglas Village Centre, Siobhan Grant, said it was an exciting time for the centre.
“The Facebook page is already gaining
‘likes’ and it is being updated daily with news, stories and bargain information,
? she continued.
“Social media is a crucial and important part of the way we communicate today so using these online tools, Finglas Village Centre will keep all our customers updated, engaged and informed.
“This online launch coincides with the recent and continued on site upgrade of the shopping centre and will allow all of Finglas Village Centre’s old and new customers to be at the online heart of Finglas!
?
Local councillor, Paul McAuliffe (FF), welcomed the opening of Dealz and said he hoped it would attract more people and business to the centre.
“The store will add to existing supermarkets in the village; Superquinn which will soon change its name to SuperValu, and Iceland who provide customers with a wide range of high quality frozen products,
? he said.
“The three stores are all located in the heart of the village and provide a wide offering for the whole spectrum of shoppers.
“I hope it will also encourage some smaller retailers to look at some of the small empty units in the village. With the volume of customers now shopping in Superquinn, Iceland and now Dealz, it makes Finglas an attractive location to open a new business.
?
Cllr McAuliffe also praised locals who are involved in the efforts to promote Finglas Village, and said:
“The amazing efforts by the Finglas Tidy Towns, The Finglas Traders Group and the Finglas Village Renewal Group have lead to many improvements over the past 12 months and I’d advise potential entrepreneurs to invest early and secure a place in what we hope will be a thriving village again.
