Road projects to make motorists’ lives easier

WORK got underway on two new road projects last week.

The Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, Leo Varadkar turned the sod on the

?¬282 million Newlands Cross and N11 Arklow to Rathnew projects that are expected to make a huge difference to motorists.

The N7 will remove the last traffic light between Cork and the outskirts of Belfast, while the N11 dual carriageway tackles the last bottleneck between Dublin and Rathnew.

The Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr Cathal King, said it was important to record that the projects demonstrated the enormous benefits of the continuing investment in the National Road Network.

“For many years we were associated with the traffic issues of the Red Cow Interchange but today such issues no longer exist as a direct result of the significant investment made in the road network,

? he said.
