It might be Forbidden but it’s gonna be fun!

Neon Neon will be at Forbidden Fruit in Kilmainham this weekend.

A VERITABLE smorgasbord of musical tastes will be catered for at the eagerly awaited Forbidden Fruit Music & Arts Festival taking place in the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham this weekend.

In recent weeks several more acts have been added to the two-day (Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2) Bank Holiday Weekend bill that already featured some of the most exciting names on the festival circuit this year.

In what is one of the first big musical events of the year, the organisers, including Bulmers and POD, have managed to secure an exciting line up to kick-start the summer festival season

Straight off the bat headliners Kasabian and the legends that are Primal Scream were always going to be top draw but as always at the increasingly popular Forbidden Fruit the supporting cast of acts will provide even more distraction for the most eclectic music fan.

The final 14 that were announced recently to join the likes of James Blake, Crystal Castles, Chic and Neon Neon include Health from Los Angeles; English electronic duo, Simian Mobile Disco; Sydney duo, Jagwar Ma; the young producer Koreless and Swim Deep, a band described by NME as

“on the cusp of stepping into the big league

?.

And this is just the music. As Irish music festivals have developed over the years, organisers have long recognised that outside the musical entertainment discerning audiences are always on the look out for other ways to have fun.

And in this regards the Forbidden Fruit has admirably stepped up to the mark with a Comedy Tent featuring some cracking names in fun including Kevin McAleer, David Savage and the Nualas.

Belinda Kelly, the Marketing Manager for Bulmers Ireland said:

“This completed line-up makes for an amazing festival of the best and most diverse music around.

“At Bulmers, we are finalising our own plans for making sure festivalgoers have a brilliant two days at Forbidden Fruit, so watch this space for more details over the coming weeks.

The Forbidden Fruit website (www.forbiddenfruit.ie) is also worth checking out for more details on the huge array of acts performing as well as ticket prices and so on, while this year users and fans of the website and Facebook page will get the chance to listen to the dedicated radio channel via Deezer widgets.
