Dublin People 18 May 2013
THERE’S only one show in town this weekend and it’s taking place on the Northside.

Uberfest is set to rock the beautiful seaside village of Malahide with musical acts for all tastes and ages.
Fingal County Council has confirmed the final line-ups for the eagerly awaited festival, which takes place at Bridgefield from Friday May 24 to Sunday May 26.
The acts featuring over the three days include The Stars from The Commitments, Balbriggan singer Sharon Gaynor (Voice of Ireland semi finalist in 2012), Ryan Sheridan, Dublin Gospel Choir, Hothouse Big Band and Guests, Lorna Dempsey, Backstreet Dance Studio, Fresh Re, Halo (Belfast group), MK1 (from X-Factor), Pat Byrne (winner of The Voice), The Original Rudeboys and This Club.
Over the three days, there will also be a Festival Family Weekend at Bridgefield (next to the concert area) featuring activities such as arts and crafts stalls, face painting, vintage carousels, ice slide, and inflatable village amongst others. The festival will open from 3pm-7pm on the Friday and 11am-7pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The budget friendly festival will have something for all the family, and is easily accessible from Malahide DART Station or by bus.
Marc Halligan, from Icon Entertainment, based in Balbriggan, is responsible for all of Saturday’s entertainment, and also the sound and lighting.
Marc, like all those involved, is looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic weekend of entertainment.
“It’s going to be a fabulous event,
? he told Northside People.
“There will literally be something for everybody with all tastes and age groups catered for. We’ve a great line-up for the three days.
“A funfair element for the children has also been organised in conjunction with the music so nobody is being left out.
“The venue is perfect and it’s taking place in a part of the Malahide Castle grounds that has the easiest access to the DART Station.
?
Marc pointed out that the festival is very competitively priced.
Admission is just
?¬15 for Friday,
?¬5 for Saturday afternoon,
?¬10 for Saturday evening and
?¬10 for Sunday evening.
“For some of the artists you would pay
?¬30 or
?¬40 singly if they were appearing at a venue such at the Olympia,
? said Marc.
“The Dublin Gospel Choir and the Stars of the Commitments could cost up to
?¬20 each – here you’re getting both for
?¬10. That’s fantastic value.
“In these difficult financial times we thought heavily about pricing and feel that we are giving those who attend excellent value for money.
?
Fingal County Council has worked alongside local traders with the aim of bringing people into Malahide to show what the town has to offer.
“We’ve received great support from businesses and our aim to make it a real community event,
? added Marc.
