Students to perform Shakespeare classic

STUDENTS of Marino College of Further Education will be performing

‘The Merchant of Venice’, from Monday to Thursday, April 22-25.

Students from the college’s Theatre Performance Course will take to the stage as part of the Five Lamps Arts Festival, which is taking place at various locations across north Dublin this month. The festival is organised by Marino College tutor Roisin Lonergan who also directed the play.

The annual festival combines professional theatre companies from throughout Europe as well as giving amateur drama groups and students the opportunity to perform on the same stage.

Matinee shows of The Merchant of Venice take place Monday to Thursday at 1pm for students around the area, while the evening shows for the public take place on Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30pm in the Sean O’Casey Theatre, East Wall. Tickets cost e5 and can be purchased at the door.
