FOLLOWING in the footsteps of their elder sister Alice, siblings Grace and Nicholas Dolan have won top awards in this year’s 59th Texaco Children’s Art Competition.

Grace Dolan, a 13-year-old student at Holy Faith Clontarf, has won first prize and a cheque for e350 in the 12-13-years age category for her painting entitled
‘Keys’.
Grace’s brother Nicholas (9) – who was the inspiration for his elder sister Alice’s winning portrait in last year’s competition – has won second prize of e200 in the 9-11-years age category for his work entitled ‘Busy Day in the Garden’.
Other Northside winners, both of whom took Special Merit Awards, were Kelsey Boylan (13), a pupil at Scoil Chiaráin, Glasnevin, and Nicole Jackson (8), a pupil at Burrow National School, Sutton.
The prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony in Dublin next month.
