Bushy Park works to benefit all
Dublin People 13 Apr 2013
A MAJOR upgrade of facilities at Bushy Park is set to transform the Southside amenity.

The Bushy Park Sports Pavilion, located off Rathdown Avenue in Terenure, will be refurbished with alterations and an extension made to the single storey building.
This will provide additional changing facilities and make the building accessible for all.
The current changing rooms are over 40 years old and, according to local councillor, Ruairà McGinley, in need of total refurbishment.
“There are no female facilities and the building is not universally accessible,
? he said.
“There are no hot water services and in general the mechanical and electrical services are not compatible with current standards.
?
At present there are five changing rooms with a communal cold water shower room and two male toilets.
The proposal is to provide four adult changing rooms with en suite communal showers, two junior changing rooms, a referee’s changing room with shower and toilet, an accessible shower and toilet, and separate male and female toilets as well as other works.
It is expected that the proposed works will allow for necessary alterations to provide for facilities that will be universally accessible.
“This will help to maximise the amenity use of Bushy Park for sports purposes,
? added Cllr McGinley.
