SANDYFORD students at Rosemount School were treated to a science show with a difference at the Institute of Technology, Tallaght last week.

The Henkel Chemistry Magic Show is a popular, free event that runs as part of the company’s science education sponsorship activities throughout the year.

This is the first time that the hour-long show that was filled with a series of dramatic and colourful experiments aimed at highlighting the

‘fun’ elements of studying chemistry, has come to Tallaght.

The show also aims to challenge the perception of chemistry as a difficult subject among students.

Dr Yvonne Traynor, Director of the Henkel Technology Centre, said:

“The response to the Henkel Chemistry Show has been fantastic. We first visited Cork two years ago and the response has been so positive that we decided to include Dublin this year. We were delighted to welcome so many transition year students from Rosemount School and other local schools to participate.
