A NORTHSIDE girl is celebrating a very special birthday this week.

On Wednesday, Roisin Maher, from Artane, will be 12 on the 12/12/2012. And if that wasn’t unusual enough, the St Brigid’s Girls’ National School pupil was born 12 minutes past 12 and weighed nine pounds and 12 ounces.

Roisin’s mum, Ann, said that as far as she is aware this sort of thing doesn’t happen too often.

“My uncle, Christopher Hanley, brought it to my attention when Roisin was celebrating her 11th birthday last year,

? she said. He’s celebrating his birthday this Wednesday too and will be 78.

“When Roisin was born in 2000, she was due on December 2, but my uncle said she’d probably wait to arrive on his birthday and so she did.

According to her mother, Roisin, who loves music and taekwondo, thinks the way her birthday has fallen this year is just very coincidental and she is amused by it.

The one birthday present Roisin desperately wanted was a ticket to see

‘The Script’ perform in concert at the 02 next spring but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

“I was hoping to get her tickets for

‘The Script’ but it was impossible,

? said Ann.

“She would absolutely love to get a ticket to see them; I think she’d cry if she got one.

The band is playing three concerts at the Dublin venue on February 28 and March 1 and 2.

While a ticket to see

‘The Script’ might be out of Roisin’s reach, her mum said she loves shopping and will visit one of her favourite shops, American Apparel in Grafton Street on the day.

“She also loves cup cakes and all she wants is one big cup cake for her birthday,

? she added.

Whatever happens on Wednesday Roisin Maher is sure to feel extra special as she celebrates her 12th birthday along with her family – mum Ann, Dad George and her two siblings Ciara (19) and brother Sean (10).
