IF you fancy getting the countdown to Christmas off to an energetic start read on.

Clonliffe Harriers Athletic Club, in partnership with European Recycling Platform (ERP), are holding a Christmas Cracker 5k road race and fun run on the roads around Morton Stadium, Santry this Sunday, December 16 at 11am.
Clonliffe Harriers extends a festive invitation to all runners, joggers and walkers to take part in this event.
Unique for a road race, it will start and finish on the track in Santry. The route will take the runners out through the gates of Morton Stadium, turning left up the old Airport Road before turning left into Northwood and then left again to Ballymun.
Then it will be left again back down Santry Avenue, left at the bottom of Santry Avenue and the runners will complete the race on the track at Morton Stadium.
Participants in last year’s inaugural race thoroughly enjoyed the event and it promises to be another exciting race this year.
The festive fun was added to by a crisp, frosty morning, festive music in the stadium, a festive atmosphere and the promise of a Christmas cracker to pull at the finish.
Last year’s race winner was Joe Warne with Sarah Treacy winning the women’s race.
There are prizes in all the usual categories. Online entry is now open through www.runireland.com. The entry fee is
?¬15 plus booking fee. Late entries on the day will cost
