St Michael’s House on the right track for Christmas

ST Michael’s House, one of the largest providers of services to people with an intellectual disability in Ireland, has been selected as Iarnród Ã?ireann’s chosen Christmas charity for 2012/2013.

The Heuston Christmas tree lights were officially turned on by Holly Carpenter, from Raheny, and the CIÃ? Male Voice Choir were on hand to perform Christmas carols to a large crowd.
Professional choirs including the Dublin Gospel Choir, Kylemore College Orchestra, schools and professional musicians will be voluntarily entertaining commuters from December 1-23. Collection points will also be set up in Heuston Station and Connolly Station to help raise essential funds for St Michael’s House.
Barbara Wiseman, from St Michael’s House, said they were delighted that Iarnród Ã?ireann has chosen them as their charity for 2012/2013.
“It is great to have the support of a national organisation like Iarnród Ã?ireann,
? she stated.
Christmas Carols for Commuters raised
?¬14,000 for St Michael’s House in 2011 and it is hoped that the campaign will be just as successful in 2012.

“We encourage all of our passengers to support St Michael’s House by donating their spare change at the money collection points in Heuston and Connolly stations this Christmas.
