Pharmacy job boost in Blanchardstown

IT’LL be a happier Christmas for 45 job seekers in Dublin 15 thanks to the opening of the new look McCabe’s Pharmacy and Health Check Centre at the Blanchardstown Centre.

The pharmacy announced last week that 20 permanent and 25 temporary positions for Christmas have been created thanks to the

?¬600,000 venture.

The new outlet features a private health check area and provides a range of innovative health and pharmacy services which McCabe’s Pharmacy has pioneered in the last decade.

The independent, family-owned Irish company was founded in 1981 and already employs 305 people at its 21 outlets nationwide.

The new roles, which follow the recruitment of another 20 new employees this year, include pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, health screening practitioners, nurses, and health and beauty advisors.

The Blanchardstown pharmacy, which is 4,500 square feet in size, is one of the largest outlets within the chain.

The new health check centre is the largest pharmacy-based health check centre in Ireland and facilitates a full range of health screening including cholesterol levels, 24 hour blood pressure monitoring and food or drink intolerance levels.

The pharmacy also has a specific maternity area, specialising in baby and childhood care with a free baby weighing service available.

McCabe’s MD, Sharen McCabe, said the company was delighted to be moving into its flagship new store in Blanchardstown.

The launch of the Dublin 15 pharmacy coincides with McCabe’s Pharmacy new

‘patient pledge’.

The pledge is a series of guaranteed service levels that include a maximum dispensing time of 15 minutes.
