Hospital fundraiser faces big test
Dublin People 10 Nov 2012
OUR Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, is hoping to find the right answers to its latest fundraising campaign.
The hospital has launched
‘The Big Question’, which aims to encourage family, friends, companies, organisations, teams and groups from all over Ireland to come together on Thursday, November 22 and host a table quiz in aid of the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation (CMRF), the hospital’s fundraising arm.
Dr Orla Franklin, Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at Our Lady’s Hospital said sick children deserve the best chance to survive and thrive.
“Today in Crumlin, premature infants are having open-heart surgery,
? stated Dr Franklin.
“Children are fighting aggressive cancers. These tough real life struggles are happening in cramped and out-of-date facilities. This has to change.
?
To combat this urgent need, the CMRF is asking people around the country to host a quiz at home, at work or in their local area to raise vital funds. Future quizmasters are being asked to register their teams online to receive their own fundraiser pack, which outlines all the details on how teams across Ireland can help raise vital funds for the hospital.
Dr Franklin added:
“Public support has always been the catalyst for Crumlin Hospital’s success and we are appealing to everyone to download their table quiz pack from www.thebigquestion.ie and have fun while helping the nation’s most vulnerable kids.

Newstalk 106-108FM is supporting the event.
