Time for fresh faces says Fianna Fail’s new recruit
Dublin People 20 Oct 2012
FIANNA Fail’s move towards renewal of the party is gathering pace and last week announced that its youngest local area represenative in the country will be based on the Northside.

Daryl Bannon, aged just 19, said he was delighted with his appointment as local area representative for the Donaghmede ward.
“It is time for a new approach to politics both locally and nationally,
? he told Northside People.
I am now the youngest local area representative in the country for Fianna Fáil.
“It may be a weird choice of job for someone so young but I believe it’s important that all ages are represented in the right way.
“The politics of the past has failed us. It’s time new fresh faces appear to make a difference to their local communities.
“I want to show that a new type of politics can be fulfilled in the coming years ahead.
?
Mr Bannon believes that politics has always been a taboo subject for younger people.
“In many cases, people don’t even know who’s running the country.
“This is why I believe it’s imperative that younger people are educated about how the political system works,
? he stated.
“The generations ahead of me need to see leadership both locally and nationally in the years ahead.
“Having grown up in the area I understand what is severely lacking in our community.
“I have seen the lack of facilities which I believe has denied the youth in the disadvantaged area especially.
“I believe these people do not have a voice and it’s important that someone stands up for them.
