Good news on the local jobs front

THERE was good news on the local employment front last week when a company opened new premises on the Northside and announced it was creating 100 jobs as part of a further expansion.

To accommodate this sustained growth arvato Finance has moved into new premises in Eastpoint Business Park.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny visited the Northside last week to officially open the new building.

Arvato Finance has successfully delivered on a promise to create 150 jobs in Dublin two years ahead of schedule.

The positions have been created in IT, consulting, finance and accounting, project management and customer service roles over the past 12 months.

The 100 positions have been created across the arvato network with over 60 positions currently available reflecting the strong demand for skilled people and 40 recently recruited.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said the announcement that arvato is to create 100 additional jobs in Fairview was great news for north Dublin and for Ireland.

“Financial services forms a key part of the Government’s plans for jobs and growth, with a target of 10,000 additional jobs by 2016,

? stated Minister Bruton.

“This announcement shows that Ireland’s offering is strong in this sector.

“I am determined that, through continued implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs, we will continue to attract additional investment in this sector and create more jobs for north Dublin and for Ireland.

Dublin North Central TD Aodhán � Ríordáin (Lab) said he was delighted with the announcement and to see arvato Finance moving its premises to north Dublin.

“I think it will be of huge benefit for local people in the area,

? stated Deputy Ã? Ríordáin.

“This announcement proves that we are producing a highly skilled workforce which is attracting foreign investment and creating jobs.

“We must ensure, however, that our workforce continues to be highly skilled.

“I will therefore continue to liaise with Minister for Education and Skills, Ruairi Quinn, on the issue of educational reform so that our young people are suitably skilled to enter the workforce when the time comes.
