Mikey’s ready for windsurfing tour

MIKEY Clancy will compete in the upcoming Professional Windsurfing Association (PWA) tour events in Denmark and Germany.

The 22-year-old, from Raheny, will compete for Ireland against the world’s top windsurfers at the KIA Cold Hawaii World Cup event in Klitmuller Denmark this month and in October at the Reno World Cup Westerland event in Sylt, Germany.

The DIT student has been competing on the PWA tour for a number of years and was ranked 25th in 2009. He has been training for the World Championships on the west coast of Ireland at Elly Bay, Belmullet, and Magheroarty, Donegal, over the last year.

He is sponsored by Surfdock water sports shop in Dublin and North Sails, Fanatic, DIT, ION and K4Fins.
