Amy’s dad presents hospice with massive cheque
Dublin People 08 Sep 2012
THE Amy Winehouse Foundation paid a visit to the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice recently to present them with a cheque for
?¬25,000.
Mitch Winehouse, along with foundation patron Barbara Windsor, travelled to Dublin to formally hand over the money that was raised from Amy’s last album.
Money from Irish sales of Amy’s record
‘Lioness: Hidden Treasures’ helped fund the donation to the Leopardstown based hospice, and there is more to come.
Mitch visited the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice in 2011 and after being inspired by the incredible work they do for children in Ireland, he felt the need to come back and reaffirm his support. LauraLynn is Ireland’s first children’s hospice, and cares for children from birth to 18 years old with life limiting conditions and helps their families to cope.
The foundation also funds a young people’s advice worker at the London charity that was often visited by Amy when she lived nearby. Future fundraisers in aid of LauraLynn Children’s Hospice are now planned at the London Irish Centre.
