DEPUTY Mary Mitchell O’Connor (FG) has welcomed an announcement that 39 new jobs are to be created at the Digital Marketing Institute in Dún Laoghaire.

The Digital Marketing Institute is one of 53 new high potential start up companies that will be creating a total of 911 jobs.
The jobs have been created as a result of support provided to the companies by the Government through Enterprise Ireland.
“I am delighted to hear that the Digital Marketing Institute, an Irish company based in Dún Laoghaire, will be creating 39 new jobs,
? Deputy O’Connor said.
“The announcement represents an important economic boost to the town and to the wider area.
?
Deputy Peter Mathews (FG) said the announcement by Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation, Richard Bruton was indicative of the Government’s focus on creating jobs in indigenous innovative new start-ups.
“In my own constituency SalonAddict.ie, an online booking service for hair and beauty appointments, started off 18 months ago with three young lads who had an idea that they believed could be developed into a successful business.
“After a lot of hard work and sheer determination, the company is creating 20 new jobs in Ireland and has expanded into the UK earlier this year.
“I am delighted to see companies such as SalonAddict.ie succeed like this.

Meanwhile, Cllr Neale Richmond (FG) said the announcement will mean an extra 15 new jobs created by Belfield based firm Wattics and nine jobs coming to Foxrock through Stock Streak, a social gaming platform that provides users with the opportunity to play the stock market for free, enjoyment and educational purposes.
