Music festival hits the right note

The incomparable Temper-Metal Miss Elayneous from Finglas will be topping the bill on Saturday (August 11) at the Plaza in Ballymun between 3-5pm at Street Sounds.

MUSIC lovers across the Northside are in for a treat over the next three weeks thanks to Dublin City Council.

The council’s arts office presents the Northside Music Festival 2012, which takes place from August 6-26.

The festival offers a range of summertime musical events and provides access to live music from traditional, Hip-Hop/Rap to Gospel with a rich array of Irish and international talent to local communities. Admission to all performances is free.

This year’s exceptional music programme will be held in distinctive settings such as city parks, community centres, churches and civic spaces.

With a stunning line up including Slide, The Lace, Rooftop Anthems, Dublin Gospel Choir and Temper-Mental Miss Elayneous to name but a few, the Northside Music Festival 2012 is not to be missed.

Supported by the Arts Council, this year’s festival features family orientated music master classes, sit-in sessions and workshops.

The aim of these workshops is to directly engage young talent with the highest level of professional expertise while celebrating intercultural activity taking place across the city.
