THE North Dublin Chamber (NDCC) has announced the appointment of its new President.

Mark Kellett, chief executive of Clonshaugh-based telecoms company Magnet Networks, takes over the chain of office from outgoing Chamber President, Fiona Cottell.

While recognising the challenging times for business in the North Dublin area, Mr Kellett is relishing the opportunity to build on the successes of the Chamber in recent years.

“Fiona has been a tireless ambassador for the Chamber over the past two years and I intend to carry on her good work and that of the council,

? said Mr Kellett.

“I plan to re-focus and drive our vision of a Chamber that, not only engages with the wider business community, but also takes active steps to support economic regeneration in our region.

“There is no better demonstration of this than the launch of the Business Start-Up Workshops in 2011, in conjunction with the Northside Partnership and hosted by Dublin Airport Authority.

“The feedback from participants has been excellent and is an indicator of how a chamber can have a real and positive effect in supporting economic regeneration.

Speaking of plans for the coming months, Mr Kellett said:

“Following on from the tremendous success of our Enterprise Expo last November, we plan to hold our second Annual Expo in November 2012.

“The Expo provides a unique opportunity for North Dublin businesses to showcase their products and services to a wider market while making valuable network contacts.
