PERSISTENCE and Facebook paid off for a Northside soccer fanatic who convinced his mum to allow him to paint their home in the Irish colours.

Keith Kenny’s cunning plan to get his house decked out in the green white and orange paid off just in time for the start of the European Championships.

The 22-year-old had begged his mum Cathy to allow him to paint the house long before the games began but when she refused he came up with the ingenious plan to get her to change her mind.

“I went on Facebook and put up a question asking whether people thought my mam should allow me to paint the house in the tricolour,

? he told Northside People.

“The response was incredible with over 300 people in favour of the idea and hundreds of comments. I showed her and she had to give in. Sure, the people had spoken.
