Local beauty aims for Miss Ireland title
Dublin People 24 Mar 2012
THIS Northside beauty is hoping to be crowned Miss Ireland this year after narrowly missing
out on the title in 2011.

Clonshaugh
local Aishling Alcock is aiming to follow in the footsteps of fellow
Northsideer Holly Carpenter by winning the hotly contested pageant, which takes
place in late April.
The stunning
22-year-old beautician and Assets model came third in the competition last
year.
“I’m definitely
hoping for gold this year,
? she stated.
“It would be my dream to win.
?
Thirty-six
girls will contest the competition in which the chosen winner will go on to fly
the flag for Ireland in the Miss World competition.
The competition
will involve an interview round and a fashion show where contestants will model
bikini wear and gowns.
The Miss
Ireland competition is open to girls, at least five feet seven inches in
height, between the ages of 17 and 24, and unmarried without children. In
addition, they must be citizens of Ireland.
According to
Aishling, those who compete for the coveted title of Miss Ireland will be in
tip-top shape.
“There isn’t
any emphasis from the organisers on weight or any specific demands that you
have to be super skinny,
? she told Northside People.
“But all of
those who compete will be fit and look after themselves physically.
“But it’s not
all about beauty because judges will be looking for a girl who is confident,
bubbly, someone who stands out and makes an impression from the start.
?
Aishling would
like to thank her sponsors, beauty product range N.S.I, shoes4heaven and Lara
Boutique.
