Aware announces harbour walk details

IF you’re looking for something different to do this
St Patrick’s Day, why not take part in the annual Aware Harbour2Harbour Walk on
Saturday, March 17.

Not only will you reap the benefits of being
physically active – which can have a very positive effect on mental health and
wellbeing – you will also be participating in a fun and worthwhile event.
The 16.2-mile route takes in the beautiful surrounds
of Dublin Bay. Participants can choose to walk from Dun Laoghaire Harbour to
Howth Harbour or from Howth to Dun Laoghaire, with both options starting at
10.30am.
The Harbour Walk is an ideal event to do with friends
or family, or as an individual challenge.
Dr Claire Hayes, clinical director of Aware, pointed
to the positive impact of taking part in the event.
“Exercise helps to keep our bodies healthy, and can
also have a positive impact on our mind, improve our mood, and help us cope
better with life’s challenges,
? she stated.
This year’s Harbour Walk is supported by one of
Aware’s long time supporters Robert Roberts Tea & Coffee.

Registration for the event is
?¬15 for an individual or
?¬25 for two adults, with under 16s free.
Participants are also asked to raise sponsorship for
their efforts, all of which will go to Aware’s support, information and
education services.
