Picture perfect for Temple Street
Dublin People 13 Jan 2012
AMATEUR snappers Padraig Ryan from Drumcondra and pal
Shane Brosnan from Bray have ensured that 2012 is off to a great start for
Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.
The duos festive image was voted as the winning
picture in the One4All Christmas Jumper Day campaign by the Irish public and as
Temple Street is the lads’ charity of choice the hospital’s pet therapy program
gets a
?¬5,000 cash boost.
The programme provides weekly dog visits to the
children, which is a vital componant of their rehabilitation and therapy.
“Taking the photos was all a bit of fun and started
out just wearing the jumpers in front of the tree, but soon progressed to
include props and all manner of poses,
? said Padraig.
“Working at Temple Street, we see first hand what a
difference any funds make to the lives of the children here and so we were more
than happy to do anything we could to help raise some funds for services like
the pet therapy programme.
?
One4all kicked off the charity initiative early
December, calling on people nationwide to don a festive jumper to be in with a
chance to win
?¬5,000 for their charity of choice.
Entrants from all over Ireland, like Padraig and
Shane, uploaded photos of themselves wearing Christmas jumpers to the One4all
Ireland facebook page where daily winners were chosen, entered into the final
and the winner was voted for by public facebook vote.
