Shadowplay reach the Summit in Bandslam competition

SHADOWPLAY have
been crowned the winners of this year’s Summit Bandslam.
The dynamic
three-piece, from Maynooth, took to the stage early in the evening on the
finals night and wooed the judges and the crowd with their well-crafted
originals.
They brought on
two extra guest musicians to augment some of their more complex numbers.
Shadowplay’s
success has landed them the ultimate promotional package that includes:

?¢ The EP to
receive one year of paid worldwide digital release on iTunes and Amazon

Exciting punk
four-piece
‘Dirty Jezebel’ took second place, while Northside four-piece
funksters
‘The Gerry O’Reillys’, landed third place.
Champagne
Animal, Fox. E. & The Good Hands and singer songwriter Aaron Finn were also
among this year’s finalists.
Brainchild of
Paul Byrne, managing director of Optophonic and drummer with Shane MacGowan, In
Tua Nua, Rocky de Valera and the Gravediggers, the Summit Bandslam was run over
three months as bands battled each other for the ultimate music prize.
Forty-eight
bands and singer songwriters from all over Ireland converged on the Summit Inn,
having been picked from a total of 75 entrants.
