DUBLIN Airport’s years of hard work, striving to
maintain and exceed quality standards has resulted in the winning of two awards
at the National Q Mark Awards 2011.

Liz Kavanagh, Customer Relations and Quality Manager,
was delighted to receive the Quality Management Systems Level 2 award on behalf
of her colleagues.

This in itself was a huge achievement but there was
better to come at the culmination of the event when Dublin Airport was crowned
with the Q Mark for Quality Management Systems – National Winner Award 2011.

Ms Kavanagh said winning these awards was a great
achievement for the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA).

“It is a reflection of our commitment to quality,
continuous improvement for our customers and an acknowledgement of the hard
work by all,

? she stated.

“It is great to have external validation of our
processes and practices and an excellent tool to assist us in our drive for
continuous improvement.

Irene Collins, managing director of the National Q
Mark, said:

“The DAA’s victory of the Q Mark Award for Quality Management
Systems is a phenomenal achievement for the authority as it only recently
opened Terminal 2 and continues to roll out significant additional improvements
as part of the e2 billion investment programme to the airport infrastructure at
Ireland’s busiest airport.

“To have companies lead the way in quality and
excellence demonstrates that quality is never an accident – it is always the
result of high intention, sincere effort and skilled execution.

Ms Collins added:

“Congratulations to everyone
involved. It’s a great testament to the energy and commitment of the winning
teams.

The EIQA Awards, which involve more than 100 of the
best companies in Ireland, vying to win one of the prestigious quality awards,
celebrate the drive, commitment and achievements of all nominated companies,
committed to quality in the island of Ireland.
