Dublin North
East TD Tommy Broughan (Lab) warmly congratulated all the local winners.
“Yet again
residents’ associations in Dublin North East have performed outstandingly well
and have won first place in a range of categories in this prestigious
competition,
? he stated.
“This is an
incredible achievement by residents of Dublin North East and I would like to
pay a warm tribute to all of the residents’ associations and individual
residents who do so much on a daily basis to maintain and enhance their local
environment.
?For example,
this is the ninth year that Ard Na Greine have won this award.
“Ard Na Greine
has a large number of green spaces that are kept in an immaculate condition and
Residents’ Associations from across the city have come to view the estate and
learn from the Ard Na Greine residents’ association.
“It is also the
40th anniversary of Donaghmede Estate and DERA-Carndonagh Park have been
nominated for the All-Ireland Pride of Place Award.
? Deputy Broughan said it
was also very encouraging to see the large number of new entrants to the City
Neighbourhood awards this year by new community and residents’ groups.
?Given the
cutbacks to Dublin City Council services and staff it is great to see so many
local residents taking the initiative in their community,
? he stated.
“I would also
like to commend the North Central Area management team and judges for
organising this impressive event and for their ongoing support for residents’
associations across the community.
?
Deputy Broughan
also wished all of the associations the best of luck as they go forward to the
next regional round of the City Neighbourhood Awards.
Meanwhile,
Dublin North Central TD Finian McGrath (Ind) congratulated Donnycarney West
Residents’ Association for their success in the competition.
“This is a great
victory for the residents’ committee, their neighbours and friends,
? said
Deputy McGrath.
“I commend and
thank them for their great community work.
