DCC launches new campaign to recruit the engineers who will shape Dublin’s future

Dublin City Council has launched a new recruitment campaign to attract graduate engineers who will help deliver some of the most significant infrastructure, climate action, housing and transport projects planned for the capital in the years ahead.

The campaign, “Build Dublin’s Future”, showcases how graduate engineers can build rewarding careers while helping deliver projects that will impact the city for decades to come.

The campaign is aimed at final-year students and recent graduates in Civil, Environmental, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Transport Engineering.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Daryl Barron,said: “For graduates starting out in their careers, few opportunities offer the chance to make such a visible and lasting impact on the city around them.

“The engineers who join Dublin City Council today will help deliver the homes, transport infrastructure, climate action projects and public spaces that will shape Dublin’s future.

“As our city continues to grow and evolve, we need talented and ambitious graduates who want to use their skills to make a real difference.

“I encourage anyone looking for a career with purpose, challenge and the opportunity to contribute to their city to consider becoming part of the team building Dublin’s future.”

Graduate Engineers joining Dublin City Council will work on projects that support the city’s continued growth while helping to create a more sustainable, resilient, and liveable Dublin.

Opportunities span a broad range of areas, including climate adaptation measures, flood alleviation schemes, sustainable transport infrastructure, housing and regeneration projects, and environmental protection initiatives.

As an Engineers Ireland Accredited Employer, Dublin City Council provides graduates with a structured programme of professional development, including mentoring, accredited training and continuing professional development opportunities. The programme supports graduates on their pathway towards Chartered Engineer status while providing firsthand experience on live projects from the outset of their careers.

Graduate engineers work as part of multidisciplinary teams tackling some of the capital’s most pressing challenges, including climate resilience, sustainable transport, environmental protection, and housing delivery.

“The campaign also features the experiences of engineers who have developed their careers within Dublin City Council, demonstrating the organisation’s commitment to professional growth, collaboration, and meaningful public service.

Applications are now open for the 2026 Graduate Engineer Programme.
