Dublin player wins €3.3 million Lotto jackpot

As a rare solar eclipse captivated Ireland on Wednesday night, one Dublin player scooped a sun-sational €3,369,310 Lotto jackpot. 

The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s Lotto draw (12th August) were: 02, 07, 11, 13, 17, 33 and the bonus was 01.

The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning retail location will be announced over the coming days.

And that’s not all! A player in Co. Wexford matched five numbers and the bonus to win €191,677 in Wednesday night’s Lotto draw! The winning ticket was purchased on the day of the draw from XL Gorey, 70 Main Street, Gorey, Co. Wexford.

Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson said:

“Wednesday night was already shaping up to be a memorable occasion as people across Ireland gathered to watch the solar eclipse, but for one Dublin Lotto player it became a truly unforgettable night. While many were focused on a rare event in the sky, a Dublin player became Ireland’s newest millionaire with a Lotto jackpot win worth €3,369,310! And that wasn’t the only big win of the night. A player in Co. Wexford also enjoyed a stellar result after matching five numbers and the bonus to win €191,677! We are now encouraging all Dublin and Wexford players to check their tickets carefully and, if you’re holding the winning ticket, be sure to sign the back of it and get in touch with our prize claims team.”

The winning ticketholders are advised to sign the back of their tickets and contact the National Lottery Prize Claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie. Arrangements will then be made for them to collect their prizes at Lottery Headquarters
