LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, has announced its first-ever LauraLynn 5K & 10K fundraising event, taking place on Saturday, October 10, at Leopardstown Racecourse.
Broadcaster Ray D’Arcy officially launched the event alongside the Kane family, whose daughter Grace sadly died in 2021 and have been supported by LauraLynn throughout their journey.
Runners, walkers and supporters from Dublin and across the country are invited to sign up and take part in a special day.
However you choose to take part, every single person there on the day will be helping LauraLynn continue to provide vital care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families across Ireland.
Amy Kane, Grace’s Mum, shares the importance of the support they received and continue to receive from LauraLynn:“Knowing Grace would have a short life, LauraLynn helped us make every day count.
“We are proud to support LauraLynn’s first-ever 5K & 10K event and encourage people to get involved.
“By taking part, you’ll be helping LauraLynn continue to support families across Ireland and make every moment matter when life is short.”
As Ireland’s Children’s Hospice, LauraLynn supports children with life-limiting conditions and their families through hospice care, family support, short breaks, symptom management, end-of-life care and bereavement support.

LauraLynn relies primarily on fundraised income to provide these services, all of which are delivered free of charge to families.
Speaking at the launch, Ciara Donnelly, Race Organiser at LauraLynn, said: “We’re so excited to welcome you to join Lauralynn’s first-ever 5K and 10K Run!
“This is more than just a race, it’s a chance to connect with a community of runners and walkers making a real difference.
“Your support means LauraLynn can provide essential care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the country.
“LauraLynn provides care and support to over 220 families across Dublin.
“Sign up today to help make a difference and have fun.”
The race takes place on Saturday 10 October 2026. Participants can choose between a 5K or 10K distance and are asked to fundraise in support of LauraLynn’s work, helping ensure that children and families receive the care and support they need at every stage of their journey.
