Planned Dun Laoghaire to Greystones bridge and coastal defence works this weekend cancelled due to Storm Amy

Iarnród Éireann is advising customers that bridge replacement and coastal defence works between Dun Laoghaire and Greystones, which has been due to take place this Saturday and Sunday 4^th and 5^th October, have been cancelled.

The works have been cancelled as forecast high winds arising from Storm Amy impact the safety of the proposed works due to the bridge lift involved, as well as work on exposed terrain on Bray Head.

As a result, full DART and Dublin to Rosslare Europort services will operate across the weekend.  The works have been rescheduled to the weekend of 1^st and 2^nd November.

Other works which are taking place this weekend on the rail network are as follows:

 Saturday 4^th October: Portlaoise to Thurles, Cork to Mallow

Track renewal and bridge maintenance works between Portlaoise and Thurles, and signalling works for the Cork Area Commuter Rail project between Mallow and Cork (evening only) will affect the following Intercity services:

• Intercity services between Dublin Heuston and Cork / Limerick / Kerry will include bus transfers between Portlaoise and Thurles in both directions, and will operate to a revised timetable. Full details are at www.irishrail.ie and the Iarnród Éireann app.
• Additionally, from 22:00hrs onwards, there will be bus transfers between Mallow and Cork in both directions on Cork/Mallow commuter services and on the 21:00hrs Heuston to Cork service

Friday 3^rd October (after 21:30hrs); all day Saturday 4^th October; and (up to 09:00hrs) Sunday 5^th October: Ceannt Station redevelopment and Oranmore Station works

Works associated with these projects will take place affecting services for late evening trains on Friday, all of Saturday, and early trains on Sunday morning, as follows:

• Intercity services between Dublin Heuston and Galway, and Limerick and Galway will involve bus transfers in both directions between Athenry and Galway, and operate to a revised timetable, as follows:
  • Friday 3^rd October: 19:35hrs and 20:30hrs Heuston to Galway; 22:25hrs Galway to Athlone; 19:50hrs Limerick to Galway
  • Saturday 4^th October: all services
  • Sunday 5^th October: 08:00hrs Galway to Heuston (bus transfer departs earlier at 07:30hrs) and 08:25hrs Galway to Limerick (bus transfer departs earlier at 07:55hrs)
