Two dead and children injured after resort hit in Russian bombing

Dublin People Group is collaborating with the Ukrainian Center for International Communications Cideips to provide information regarding ongoing Russian aggression in Ukraine.

Two people have been killed and at least 12 others injured, including children, after a holiday resort in the Zaporizhzhia District of Ukraine was struck by Russian bombs in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The attack, which took place around 6am on August 6, saw at least four high-explosive aerial bombs dropped on the resort.

Among the injured were two children who were rushed to a hospital in Zaporizhzhia city.

One is said to be in serious condition, while the other is in a moderate state.

Seven adults were taken to another medical facility, with six reported to be in critical condition and undergoing surgery.

One other patient was treated and discharged.

The bombing caused fires and widespread damage across the resort, destroying buildings and vehicles, and igniting open land nearby.

Emergency services are at the scene and continue to respond.
