Following on from the hugely successful event at Mountjoy Square Park last month, ‘Dublin City Council Funtropolis’ is set to bring Merrion Square Park alive from 12pm to 6pm this weekend July 12 & July 13.

Bringing the best in family entertainment from exciting street theatre to groovy music and dance, hilarious comedy, delicious food and drink and a whole lot more.

It’s the ultimate, free family fun day out in Dublin City centre.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Councillor Ray McAdam said, “Funtropolis is a great opportunity for families to have fun together in the heart of Dublin city’s Merrion Square.

“We’re hoping for a great turnout and can’t wait for everyone to enjoy a weekend packed with free fun, laughter, and community spirit in one of the city’s most beautiful parks.”

Prepare for a weekend filled with street theatre, groovy music and dance, hilarious comedy, delicious food and drink, and so much more.

Expect even more exciting circus performances, interactive workshops, live music, and the brand-new addition of the Dublin City Council Funtropolis Dog Show!

There will be plenty of laughter with comedic performances from Curious State, Professor Plunger, Ballet Poulet, Jack Wise, Guido Fanzini, Dance Duo Up Close, and The Impossible Circus.

The Dog Show on Sunday will feature categories such as Best Groomed, Rescue Dog, Fancy Dress, and more, with exciting prizes up for grabs.

The Dublin City Council Library Bus, DCC Sports & Wellness, and the outdoor mobile child sensory unit will also be on site for educational and interactive experiences.

Dublin City Council is implementing a no single plastic measure at Funtropolis reducing the festival’s carbon footprint by using only HVO generators.

The festival program has been carefully curated to be inclusive and representative of the people and cultures of modern Dublin.
