Revenue seize 4.32 million cigarettes at Dublin Port

Last Thursday (28th), as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Milo, Revenue officers seized approximately 4.32 million cigarettes with an estimated value of over €3.6 million at Dublin Port.

The illicit cigarettes, branded ‘Rothmans’, were discovered in a container which had arrived from Rotterdam, the Netherlands and represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €2,800,000.

Investigations are ongoing.
