Witness appeal in relation to serious road traffic collision in Ringsend

Gardaí in Irishtown say they are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that occurred in Ringsend on Wednesday morning, March 20.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted shortly before 8:00am following a collision involving a van and a pedestrian at the junction of Cambridge Road and Thorncastle Street.

The pedestrian, a female in her 50s, was transferred to St. Vincent’s University Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

A technical examination of the scene has since been conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.

A garda spokesperson said:

“An Garda Síochána are appealing to any witnesses of this collision to come forward.

“They are also appealing to anyone with video footage (including dash-cam) from the area between 7:45am and 8:15am on the 20th March 2024 to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
