Prohibition Do Not Swim Notice at Velvet Strand Portmarnock has been lifted

The Prohibition Do Not Swim Notice at Velvet Strand Portmarnock has been lifted.

The resample collected on 24th July, 2023 at Velvet Strand, Portmarnock has met the result for “excellent” water quality.

Following consultation with the Health Service Executive the Prohibition Notice in place will now be removed.

The next scheduled sample for all identified beaches is 31st July 2023.

Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
