Exciting times in the Dublin Mountains this weekend as Glencullen Adventure Park hosts the Irish Downhill National Championship

Ever wondered what it would be like to witness a spectacular downhill mountain bike race?

Well now is your chance!

The Irish Downhill National Championships takes place at Glencullen Adventure Park this Saturday July 22 and Sunday 23th and all are welcome.

Spectators and photographers can marvel at the skills of elite riders from across Ireland who will be competing for the national champion title in the stunning surrounds of one of Ireland’s most popular mountain bike parks.

Set on the side of the Dublin mountains, The GAP boasts first class tracks and facilities amidst an incredible backdrop of the city and the sea.

This event, which takes place all day on Saturday and Sunday from 9am, is sanctioned by Cycling Ireland and kindly sponsored by BBB Cycling, High five sport nutrition and Cyclon Bike Care.

Also supported by DLR Tourism.

The buzz is set to be truly electric as the championships begin on the 22nd of July which holds special meaning to the Glencullen Adventure Park team as it is also the bike park’s 6-year anniversary.

Even more reason to celebrate!

Practice and seeding will take place on the Saturday with Irish favourite Mark McCabe set to DJ for a chill summer evening session with food, alcohol free beverages and race village.

Camping available.

Race day will take place Sunday with podiums awarded in the evening.

This promises to be the mountain biking event of the year.
