Rose Festival returns to St Anne’s Park

The annual Dublin City Council Rose Festival returns to St Anne’s Park, Raheny, on the weekend of Saturday 15th July and Sunday 16th July from 10am to 6pm with free admission. The festival is held in the beautiful surroundings of St Anne’s Park with its Rose Garden and scenic walks. This year’s festival is jam-packed with activities for the entire family with a whole host of things to see and do including live music and dancing.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Daithí de Róiste said, “I invite everyone to come join us over the weekend to enjoy this wonderful festival and experience the many attractions that St. Anne’s Park has to offer. Events such as this provide a great day out for families who will be treated to the gorgeous rose garden in full bloom.”

The Council’s Parks, Biodiversity and Landscape Services are delighted to be organising this family-friendly event once again amid the backdrop of the 270-acre historic St. Anne’s Park.

The festival offers an enjoyable, entertaining and fun day out for all the family. As the festival is held at the peak of flowering season for roses, it is a fantastic opportunity to see these beautiful flowers at their best.

One of Dublin’s biggest free family festivals will bring you much more than the beautiful roses at the peak of their flowering season.  In addition to the flowers, there will be plenty of other attractions for all of the family to enjoy.

Music lovers can enjoy live music on both days from 1.00 pm. This year we have a great eclectic mix of music including the Irish Bluegrass Band, Fused, Brian Boru, the Leinster String Quartet, Weather Underground, the Dublin Ukulele Collective, the Dublin Concert Band, the Backstage Bandits and James Dillon.

Among the many family entertainments not to be missed are historical re-enactments from Claiomh Living History and Axe Throwing. Dublin Dog Training will be showcasing their skills with a dog agility show.

Baile Átha Cliath le Gaeilge and Dublin City Council staff will be in attendance encouraging the use of the Irish language at their stand and engaging with visitors across the weekend.

Don’t miss the designated biodiversity village, with a play area for children, with performances by Rainbow Phil and Dale Treadwell and a Climbing Wall. Curious minds of all ages are sure to love getting their hands dirty and making discoveries at The Big Dig, a true hands-on learning for young people through a simulated archaeological dig.

There will also be plant sellers, nurseries, garden centres, florists, recyclers, up-cyclers, trade stands, treats, and more! For those who want a great day out make St. Anne’s Park your destination this weekend.
