Mural of Katie McCabe and teammates unveiled in Kilmananagh ahead of World Cup Qualifier

A 39ft x 8ft piece of artwork was unveiled yesterday morning by Sky of Irish WNT footballer and captain Katie McCabe in her hometown of Kilmananagh.

Sky, who sponsor the Irish Women’s National Team, commissioned the artwork ahead of Ireland taking on Georgia, in Georgia, today at 5pm.

The artwork also features Irish Internationals Denise O’Sullivan and Lucy Quinn.

Painted by Headcase and developed by Core and award-winning illustrator and comedian, Aoife Dooley, the artwork aims to highlight the match taking place and encourages Irish football fans to get behind the team on their World Cup Qualifying campaign.

As part of the unveiling, McCabe’s family members were present to witness the tribute to the Irish football captain.

People are encouraged to share the image using #OUTBELIEVE

The Irish WNT take on Georgia today at 5pm (Irish time) with the match available to view on RTÉ 2.
