13 people charged with the sale and supply of drugs in Coolock

Gardaí have charged 13 people to appear before court, and referred three youths to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme, following an extensive investigation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Coolock.

According to a Garda statement, “the investigation, conducted as part of Operation Samolus, commenced in September 2019 and was led by Gardaí attached to the Darndale Policing Unit at Coolock Garda Station.

“Alongside the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) under Operation Clean Streets and assisted by the DMR North Divisional Drugs Unit under Operation TARA.

“Thirteen (13) persons have been charged with offences contrary to Sections 3 and 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977.

“Twelve (12) are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (Court 4) on Friday, 1st October 2021 at 10.30am in relation to this investigation.

“One person will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Friday, 8th October 2021.
Three male youths have been referred to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.”
