Gardaí seize €40,000 of cannabis and arrest one man in Balbriggan

Gardaí seized approximately €40,000 of suspected cannabis herb and arrested a man during an operation conducted as part of Operation Tara yesterday, August 12, in Balbriggan.

The seizure was made following a search at a residence that was carried out at approximately 4pm pursuant to a warrant issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A man, aged in his late 40s, was arrested by Gardaí at the scene.

The man is currently being detained at Balbriggan Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Investigations are ongoing.

The operation was the second of its kind to take place yesterday, with Gardaí arresting one man and seizing nearly €50,000 of cannabis in Darndale.
