Dublin named 8th best city in the world for hidden gems

A study has found that Dublin is the eight best city in the world for hidden gem attractions.

The report, conducted by LuxuryHotel.com, looked at Tripadvisor to reveal the cities with the most and best hidden gems in the world’s most visited capital cities.

It found the average capital city has 53 hidden gems.

London had the most hidden gems with 419 in the English capital, eight times more than the global average.

The Bimber Distillery, where you can enjoy tours and tastings of handcrafted spirits, is London’s top rated hidden gem.

The study found that Dublin had 110 hidden gem attractions, with 14 Henrietta Street museum as being the most highly-rated.

The city ranks just above Madrid in ninth position with 109 hidden gems, and just below Lisbon in seventh position with 112 hidden gems.

The capital of the United States of America, Washington DC is the only capital city outside of Europe and Asia in the top 20.

Museums are the most popular hidden gem for just under half of the cities researched.
