Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin North West, Paul McAuliffe, has welcomed confirmation from his that a walk-in test centre is to open in Finglas this week.

The centre will be located in the car park of Coláiste Eoin, Cappagh Road, Finglas and will open daily from 11am to 7pm.

Walk-in test centres allow people, who don’t have symptoms of COVID-19, to get a free test without having to contact their GP first.

ID is required and you must live within 5km of the test centre.

Deputy McAuliffe said: “I greatly welcome this announcement from the Minister.

“The Finglas Ballymun LEA has a rate of 369 per 100,000 and the Artane Whitehall LEA has an incident rate of 321 per 100,000, these are amongst the highest in the city.

“I recently spoke with both Minister Donnelly and the HSE and urged them to consider a walk-in test centre for Dublin North West.

“I’m delighted to hear that the people of Finglas will now have access to a walk-in centre and I urge all those who are asymptomatic in the area to use it so we can capture those without symptoms who are COVID-19 positive,” he said.
