Celebrating National Nutritional Therapy Week 2021

Padraig Conlon 15 Mar 2021

Today is the start of National Nutritional Therapy Week, the annual event which aims to raise awareness and educate the public on the health and lifestyle benefits of nutritional therapy.

It is a week of focused communications and awareness activities co-ordinated by NTOI, Nutritional Therapists of Ireland, the professional association supporting qualified Nutritional Therapists.

A qualified registered Nutritional Therapist is someone who holds a minimum of a 3 year diploma in Nutritional Therapy and has undertaken at least 200 hours of supervised clinical practice.

A Nutritional Therapist offers personalised diet and lifestyle advice which is tailored to individual health needs and goals.

Nutritional therapy focuses on natural, unprocessed whole foods which heal the body and boost overall health.

This includes carefully chosen dietary recommendations, practical meal suggestions and recipes as well as tips on how to incorporate changes into your lifestyle.

If any foods need to be reduced or eliminated for a period of time, viable alternatives will be suggested that will maintain nutritional needs.

Typically, a practitioner will see clients with health concerns ranging from cardiovascular disease and digestive problems to hormone imbalances, weight management and autoimmune conditions.

During this week, many practitioners will share their knowledge and information with the general public including blog posts, recipes and cooking videos.

To see some of the activity this week, keep an eye out on @ntoi_ie on Instagram and @ntofireland on Facebook.
