Nearly €140,000 worth of drugs and over 30 vehicles seized in Dublin raid

As part of Operation Meacán, An Garda Síochána in DMR East successfully carried out an intelligence-led initiative targeting the unlawful use of scramblers, e-scooters and e-bikes as well as related criminal activities.

This phase of the operation, which ran from 10th August 2026 to 24th September 2026, was led by local Gardaí and focused on disrupting crime linked to these vehicles, improving road safety and removing unlawfully used vehicles from public roads in the south east Dublin area.

In the course of the operation, a total of 36 vehicles—including scramblers, Surron e-bikes and scooters—were seized. Additionally, Gardaí seized drugs with an estimated street value of €137,800, including cocaine, crack cocaine and cannabis. Fourteen premises were searched and €10,200 in cash was recovered.

Prosecutions or referrals to the Garda National Youth Diversion Bureau have commenced in respect of all offences detected during the operation. These include:

• Seven (7) Misuse of Drugs Act (Sale & Supply of Drugs)
• Four (4) Dangerous Driving
• One (1) Robbery from the person
• Two (2) Theft of property
• Two (2) Trespass
• Two (2) Criminal Damage
