Search Operation and seizure of vehicles targeting drug related criminal activity

Gardaí from the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North Central Functional Areas conducted a search operation yesterday morning, at a number of locations.

As part of ongoing investigations targeting on-street drug dealing in Dublin’s North Inner City, twenty-one (21) locations were searched and Gardaí seized a number of vehicles suspected of being used to facilitate on-street drug dealing, specifically e-scooters, e-bikes and scrambler motor bikes.

Alongside efforts to disrupt and dismantle drug distribution networks, this morning’s operation was aimed at combatting drug-relation intimidation and further organised crime activity associated with these networks.

Yesterday’s searches resulted in the seizure of:

· Electric Scooters – 18
· Motorbike – 1
· Mini Scramblers – 5
· Motorised bicycles – 5
· Various Controlled Drugs – Approximately €55,000 worth (subject to analysis)
· Cash – €10,740

One person was arrested on foot of an outstanding bench warrant.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
